As many of you know, I’ve been working a long time on a trilogy of books about my beloved stepdad Charles the Man. He was a WWll Marine who fought on Bougainville, Guam and Iwo Jima, so I’m writing one book for each island. I finished the first draft of the Bougainville book, and it’s now being edited. Writing these takes a lot out of me, as they should, but they’re really important. Wait until you read about Charlie, or “Bud” as he was called back then. You will fall just as much in love with him as I am. I was so lucky to have him in my life for twenty-six years. Greatest man I ever met.
